Different Waiter Reveals

There are so many different ways we have ‘revealed’ to guests that we aren’t who we seem and broken in to song. Sometimes we aren’t even waiters! On occasion, we have started the party with a ‘Council Officer’ announcing to the crowd that the venue needs to be evacuated, a ‘Police Officer’ entering the room reading a number plate of a car that has been “damaged”, and even a ‘Deliveroo’ driver dropping off a meal to the Best Man because he claimed ‘he didn’t like his main meal’. We have never seen someone want the ground to swallow them whole before.

Of course, the most popular reveal is the ‘Tray Fall’ which always has a good response. And even though people think they will never be caught out by something like that, they always fall for it. As our ‘waiters’ blend in with the actual venue staff so well, serving food and drinks for at least an hour. When one of them “falls over”, no one doubts that it isn’t a genuine fall.

One of our most memorable reveals came from inspiration of the Bride and Groom themselves. They helped set up the reveal by including the singers as guests at their wedding and giving them places on their table seating plan. The singers then broke in to an argument at the table, caused a scene, stormed out and the singer left at the table began to sing, with his lovely “wife” returning not long after to carry out the performance. Everyone’s reactions to this is something we will remember for a very long time.

We aren’t set in our ways, and love inspiration where we can get it. The more involvement our clients have in this, the better. The only thing we ask to make it work is that it has to stay a secret…. The less people that know, the better.

Our most recent reveal venture is that of stand up comedy. Our waiters, behave like it is their “last day” working at the venue, and appear to break every rule in ‘waiter code’ possible. Eating food in front of guests, sitting at the table and conversing with guests. Hiding cutlery in guests handbags and then giving a “speech” to say bon voyage and admitting how much they hated working there, the pay was terrible and they’re off to a much better job. When guests don’t know how to react and feel almost uncomfortable, the reveal is completely unexpected.
